Jacobs E Brake troubles

I have an 8.3 cummins with a Jacobs E brake in my motorhome. I can not tell a difference when I engage the E brake or turn it off when decelerating. At Idel you can hear it close the exhaust and you can see it working. Does a spring wear out? Anyone know what the problem might be.

Thanks

thats your vavles, Intake Exhaust but at 65k you should be ok, is the exaust brake in your exhaust pipe, or is it in the vavle cover

It is in the exhaust pipe, about 3 feet after the turbo

if you can make it stroke watch to see how far it moves. then pull the linkage off and see if it was all the way closed. if not fix it. if it was then something is dead. sorry i cant be more help but i have only been in one truck with one and it sucked.

How old is the brake? Could be a weak spring/diaphram actuator. Could be just out of adjustment. The air lines going to it are in good shape, no marks or chaffs?

silinoid could be shot which activates the brake
