cdl

Anyone can get a CDL anymore. I seen a swift driver try to cross a covered bridge near ny home. The bridge is 11'6" and a weight limet of 10 tons, he was driving a condo sleeper and smashed the bridge roof about the first 4' :s:

I completely agree with that! These truck driving schools, companies will train any monkey! Next time you pass a truck, take a look in the drivers seat. You remember the dorks in school who use to get there back sides kicked all the time, there they are!

lollollol

jasonfriedlin 06-03-2007 06:37 PM

Yeah, we're not all stupid, but there's a whole lot of them. One of my favorite things to do on the road is pull in a truck stop and watch people tryin to back into parking spots. That's good entertainment right there. I'll bet you this guy was on the telephone. Any takers?

Cowboy_Customs 06-03-2007 06:39 PM

WTF
There r a lot of retards out there. I have to deal with the cream of the crop when im working at willow run. They do CDL training. I feel sorry for these guys that get their CDL's and get jipped on their training. Im not going into details, but I got my class A from where I work now, n looking back on how much they didnt teach me.......... WTF?!
That guy however, just plumb did NOT pay attention what so ever.
Not to "toot" my own horn, but I have never hit anything, came close, but not because I wasent paying attention, I take pride in driving a tractor trailer.

jasonfriedlin 06-03-2007 06:49 PM

Yeah, I take pride in bein one of the best. I've never hit anything either. Those truck drivin schools don't teach much of anything as far as I can tell. I think they just take their money and ride'em around a lil' bit. Has anybody ever been to truck driving school that can tell us what they do teach in their.

dozerboy 06-03-2007 07:25 PM

I knew a few guys that went to a school in WI and it was a joke. Not that I'm a very knowledgeable truck driver, but I was a better driver just from what I leaned growing up on a farm. They learned the CDL book, how to past the tests, and how to run through the gears up and down driving from off ramp to off ramp on the hwy. None of them could back straight down the road let alone into a bay.

jasonfriedlin 06-03-2007 07:37 PM

That's what I figured, they taught them how to pass the test. What a joke. Anybody that is training drivers should've been out on the road at some point and should try to teach them some of the common sense things they need to know. I guess that's why the DOT is so hard on all of us.

Cowboy_Customs 06-03-2007 08:43 PM

Yeah, I had a pretty good edge on everyone in my class, growing up a farm and driving class B for 2 years was a nice jump start. Thats exactly what they do, teach them to pass the road test. They always taught (and still do) teach that if u slide the tandems forward it turns better. And NOTHING about sliding the fifth wheel, or legal weights for the drives and steers. I learned ALL of that on my own with Werner. I had a guy at work that slid the fifth wheel full forward with a refer and just about ripped the stack off. His explanation was he was over weight . :se:

dozerboy 06-04-2007 10:05 PM

Oh damn I forgot the best part one of the top dog instructors wold tell the students that a person only needs 2 hrs of sleep a night you just have to train your self to only sleep that much.:s:

jasonfriedlin 06-05-2007 10:03 PM

2 hours huh, that's a good instructor there. He probably told them that and never taught'em how to fix a logbook, did he? A person, especially a driver, can't survive long on 2 hours of sleep a night. I can't beleive he told them that. I did have a driver tell me one night to do a line of coke, lay down for 2 hours, and I'd feel like a brand new person. F THAT

Cowboy_Customs 06-06-2007 08:00 AM

"Come n get your high speed chicken feed, channel 14 thats one four, for that high speed chicken feed!"

lol
wow, 2 hours, thats amazing.

jasonfriedlin 06-06-2007 07:48 PM

I can tell you've been to W. Memphis, Ar. Ol 8 ball, got them party favas on 29, that's 29 for them party favas!:ph:

Cowboy_Customs 06-06-2007 10:19 PM

lol, howd ya guess? That and knoxville TN is real good for that, and lots of entertaining CB traffic after hours. Good town to buy things cheap if u listen for a while at the x369 truck stop row.

jasonfriedlin 06-06-2007 10:25 PM

yeah, you might buy a disease in there if u ain't careful, hehehe. I was in there about a year ago, and the night before, 3 of those "women of the evening" were gettin hassled by the cops, and one of them stabbed the cop. Crazy %$@%*

Cowboy_Customs 06-06-2007 10:33 PM

ohhh yeah! Thats a good spot for that too. Specially when its warm outside, ive heard 5 or 6 of em on the radio all at once settin there. I have spent a lot of time in that T/A parking lot. If I get on down the road, I can be in their parking lot from my house in 12 hours I think it is. IF I keep my speed up.

zqsyvep350 11-03-2011 12:49 PM

I think not all are stupid.

They don't want truckers anymore. They want seat holders.

That is awesome!!! I bet the guy in the Penske truck that popped a wheelie needed a change of underwear...

I call those guys that go to the truck driving schools crackerjacks. They buy their $5000 box of cracker jacks and ride around for a while. When they are done; they find a CDL class A in the bottom.

I had a guy driving for me with a CDL class A from a school out west somewhere. He wrecked into two cars after doing something I told him not to like 20 times. He admitted driving school was a joke and his actual test was total BS. If you ask me; there is some money changing hands somewhere along the line with these driving schools that guarantee you pass the test....

We were on the road together after he burnt up his first clutch and I was driving to deliver the cars. He wanted to jump out to help me back up with an empty car trailer. I was like "um...there's not any cars in the way so I can see everything around me, but thanks." A week and another clutch later; I suggested he find something else to do... :argh:
