N14 Cummins Are No Fun.......
when G.I Joe runs them completely out of oil and it spins THEN welds the number 5 main bearing to the crank and you cant turn the motor over to get the centrifigul clutch bolts out.........still got to check the number 7 bearing........then you got to take a hammer, chisel, and cut off wheel to get some of it off and its still stuck........

Just pull the pan, or cut a hole in it, and cut the crank in two. You'll be able to spin the flywheel, and the crank is already junk.

The most I could do as a 63B was replace a head gasket on a Deuce. Wish I would've known how to crank up the power on em back then. Your shop gets all the fun!

We had quite a few of those old skool 900s, and very few of the A2s(with the 6CT). They sound really mean when str8 piped!
The Deuce headgasket was from our own mechanic. We were having a class in recovery, and he put it in reverse instead of 1st, and sunk it in a pond....at the end of class of course. 3rd CAV!, I got out in 94. |
Sounds like a PITA! Makes me think twice about going to school to work on them...
Just kidding... :pca1::choochoo: |
