Don't have the hitch mounted yet. But did back up to where its level and did some checking. 5th wheel will be mounted behind the axle almost at the back of the bed. Pin will be about 12" from the back. Thinking everything is going to work out great with the bed like it is. Will be boxing in the cutout in the bed for the 5th wheel and goose neck hitch with Diamond Plate. Bolting it in. That way if I need to work on air lines or air bags back there I can get into them.

1987 Ford F800 with the 7.8 Ford Diesel built in brazil RT6610 Road Ranger 10 Speed trans, Rockwell rear with 4.56 gears, Air Ride along with Air Ride seats,60" Stand up sleeper with cabinets all around the top and space for a fridge and other stuff along with heat and AC back there, 9ft long x 8 ft wide Hauler bed, 24.5 Alcoa wheels and 11R-24.5 tires, Air brakes so stopping is not going to be an issue. As the truck as a single axle dump would gross more then it will weight with the camper. And plenty of brakes to stop it as a Dump truck

Is it registered as an RV or truck yet? That thing would be perfect for luggin around my pull truck nice find
|
Will register it tomorrow as an RV. Unless I can't pull my Gooseneck trailer to haul our Heating Pellets or my tractor for personal use. Then it will be tagged as a private Pickup.:scare2:
Pete |
No one needs to know that but it should still be able to be registered either way since the truck itself has a sleeper
|
Nice tow rig, I used to run a F800 knuckleboom truck with the 7.8, wasn't bad on power in stock form. :c:

Will be hunting a 4" Muffler or Resonator ASAP.:argh: The droan in the cab is not going to work for me.:s: On a long trip I would have to wear ear plugs. Love the looks of the Chrome stacks, and when you get on it the trail of smoke.:jump: But my hears don't like the sound.:scare2: So anyone know of a cheap fix? If I can't get it quit in the cab, They will only be for show. Run the exhaust all the way to the back. Being the truck is 204" Wheel base think that would get the sound way back to where theres no issues in the cab:bat::moon:
Here's a sound Video of it starting up and the sound sitting still. Look over the country boy voice.:w2: |
