battery replacement gone bad

so i bought a new 1st gen cummins yesterday and it has a high dollar sound system all top of the line.and it sounded good earlier when i played it,but i was working on the carpet with the door open for a while and the dome light drained the battery and when i turned the stereo on it sounded crappy and all static even on cd,so i thought there wasnt enough to supply the amp and the battery meter said it was drained.so i was changing the old battery for an optima and when i was tightening the cables my wrench shorted the terminals and now i have no radio..but wierd thing is is that the dome light and everything else works so i dont know what happened?? any help appreciated...sorry this is so long

Check your fuse panel and if its not in the panel the inline fuse on the decks wiring harness usually one or the other is blow when you short the battery terminals.

Yes, it does sound like a blown fuse. Don't worry.

If you listen very carefully, you might also hear a difference in sound. Bass will be reproduced tighter and treble sounds way crisper. This positive effect is caused by the very low internal resistance of the optima. The optima is able to deliver the current the amp needs.
Good choice!:c:

If you have an external amp, that is the fuse or link that got toasted.
