Two-way Alarms for trucks?
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but I have been looking for a alarm for my truck. I know all alarms are basically the same thing...but what i don't like is a alarm for my BIG truck having a two way remote with a little LCD image of some Asian rice burner on it....So I have been looking every where to find a alarm that has remotes that have a Truck or a SUV on the two way remote and maybe even have a "tailgate" sensor with appropriate markings on the remote instead of a trunk sensor...Has anyone even looked for the same? has anyone found one? Or am I the first that has noticed my trucks is not a Asian rice burner?

hahaha, never noticed it until you mentioned it right now- thats so true!
Did you ever thought about something real - like a GPS tracker unit? No annoying ricer display, unlimited range and a clear text message to your cell phone. I know there are even tracker units able to shut down your truck remote controllled. |
well i doubt anyone could steal my truck...Im more interested in the people that feel the need to bust my widow out while im in the steak house eating a steak and stealing 4k worth of computers and my briefcase out of my back seat...or should I say keeping it from happening again or at least getting a page from the remote so I can run out and shoot there worthless asses...

Can feel the pain- had it two times in a row. Breaking the rear window and grabbing the stuff out of the rear.
I still have my old fashioned Viper pager. No display, just simple letters indicating the zones. It goes on your nerves, running out while shopping to find out Mamma has bumped your truck with her shopping cart again. So those "zones" have to be choosen wisely. I use the pager only in "unsafe areas" like going to the movies- those scumbags know were you park while being at the movies. The best is to keep values out of sight and to provide nothing of interest. Since following those simple rule-no stolen items anymore. But we both found this out in the hard way... By the way: those trackers can also send zone alerts. |
i got the astro start remote and it has a pic of a little car on it :dang: if you find something you should post it up.
Ive only had my remote page me back once that my truck was getting broke into. The wierd thing it was in the locked garage but i still went racing out there ready to beat the hell out of someone. i still have no idea what triggered it :humm: |
My clifford doesnt have a picture of a vehicle, just a lock, unlock symbol. It does have zone sensors, just hasnt been set off yet so im not sure what they look like.lol Ive been havin trouble with the remote start, but I havent had time to take it back to the installer to get fixed.

the alarm I have for the truck to be installed unless I find something better is a 2-way FM alarm it has 4 shock zones,2 switch zones(hood-tailgate or trunk),two microwave sensors( can detect some one standing next to your truck lookin in the window), a air pressure sensor( will detect changes in air pressure inside your truck if a door is opened or window is busted), two glass break sensors(hear the sound of breaking glass),it has all the normal stuff , diesel mode for auto start, turbo cooler, auto door lock and window roll up,it seems pretty bad ass except the little rice burner on the remote.

Sounds like a real good system. Mine only came with shock sensors, but im gonna buy tilt sensors for it.
