Alamani Capicitors?

I got a alamani Capictior from my brother awhile and I'm just now getting to installing it to my gas rig. Its a type two capictior. Does anyone know how good they are. I can't find any research on the internet:argh:. Has any of yal ran one of this

bump

It seems that that company is brand new-no data available.

It really doesn't matter what kind of "type" that capacitor is- it's discharge capability due to extreme low internal resistance is quicker than any available battery if mounted within 8" to the amp with the proper cable diameter.

An engineers rule of the thumb:
1000 microF are good for 1 watt.
So if you have 1F, that will be enough for 1000 watts.

alright thanks buddy, Just never ran one before and the advise helps thanks:jump:

I'd say wire it up and see how it works. if its crap, wiring is in place to put something higher quality in, although they are all basically the same assuming they are living up to advertised specs.

alright I aint pushing a lot of watts just enough to not have the truck start after a few mins of bumpin' lol

FastCR 03-26-2010 07:51 PM

with the truck off? in that case you need better batts, not a cap. the idea of the cap is your charging system can recover between thumps, so your headlights don't dim and stuff. Mine used to kill the truck rollin down the road when I had it tuned right. lol

My head lights dim and volt meter on truck bouncin around when I'm poundin pretty hard to rap or something of that nature. I have fairly new battery that has no charging problems put a brand new starting slinnoid and still problem. My bro gave me the cap. And I wanted to put it in and this gave me the motivation to do it pretty sure it will help

a Capacitor will not help with the problem you are describing. Capacitors were originally used for competition use where the audio system was "Burped" the capacitor discharges completely during the initial "burp" and will re-charge after the current is reduced. you need an extra battery or 2 if you are jamming that hard. in my old competition van i had 6 batteries and 4 1.5F capacitors and twin 140A alternators. so either get a bigger alternator and a higher amperage battery or 2 or lower the volume a little bit.

remember that a diesel requires a good bit more amperage to crank than a gas burner does.

No, as the pre posters already mentioned, it won't help.

Bigger and better batteries will only delay the drain- you need at least a bigger alternator to deliver a quick and strong current recharge.
An upgraded alternator wiring may be useful too.
A battery insulator and a second battery will gurantee a safe engine start after poundin' that hard!
