I've got some C-4 and O86 detonators if you would like to barrow them.
|
Going to Split the case tomorrow , Then Going to Cry because it will most likly never work again '
DM |
Thats what the C-4 is for. :D At least it'll give ya a good laugh afterwards.
|
Oh well you needed to upgrade to HD radio anyway. It is only money right?
|
lol yeah , I want one to take a flash drive
|
Get the Pioneer Avic Z-2 and you'll never need a CD ever again. 30GB hard drive will hold a TON of music.

inside are a few rubber wheels that grab the cd. clean them off with alcohol. will work again.
|
The Fist Deal that grabs the CD is not running in forward or reverse maybe the sensor is dirtay i will clean ,,, If i shove the disk in ATW it will load but not eject because the first set of wheels are not coming on ,,,i dont think they can see the cd tring to come out
Will clean and report .. Just incase im making a Full CD of MP3s so to put in while its apart so if it fails i will be good for a while before i get a new one DM |
Couldnt get it fixed i just made a new MP3 Disk and force it in there IT will last me atleaset a mth
DM |

think it might clash...I'm using the cassette tape and I listen to my mp3 player. Just plug the one end into my headphone jack on the player...push the faux tape into the player and go to town :tttt::da2:

NICE..... i don't ever think i could part with my Kenwood 7" motorized flip out touch screen DVD/CD/MP3 player though.....
|
Yeah that a bit much for me ...lol
Ive been Diehard Clairon Head Units for 10 Years Now Even after my latest one just crapped out on me ,, Im Going back and picking up a Big Jump Drive and life is Good :) DM |
what you need to do is get an external hard drive. i have a 320GIG and it uses a USB cord and 110Vac so get one of those cheap power converters and have enough music to listen for a whole year..... you could always get a couple terabite units and be done with it......
|
lol YEah COOL !!
|
Dont mean to hi-jack, but question on USB equipped head units: I just got me one myself, and I was wondering, do I have to use just my ipod, or can I do the hard drive thing as well that Ben spoke of? Is it a certain brand of player or anything with USB that will do this feat?
|
you should be able to use a USB thumb drive and the files must be in MP3 format IIRC..... so in theory you *should* be able to use a high capacity HD.....
|
Hmmmm I figured the same. Thing thats sucks is my computer is currently 2000 miles away with my music on it, so i suppose til i get back to it or get it to where i am, i will have to live with radio and buying CDs...
|
now i do know that either Comp USA, Fry's or any major computer store should be able to get you or should have in stock a hard drive adapter where you put a standard computer HD in it and it connects to whatever via USB. my dad uses one at his job as every year or so they upgrade comps and keep the old HD's for the info that is stored on them and this is his was of accessing them easily. i'll try to get you a link to what i'm talking about as some times you can get comp HD's cheap......
here is one.... it's like $10 http://shop3.outpost.com/product/5174956 here is the link to the site..... there are some great deals on hard drives there..... http://shop3.outpost.com/category/Ou...H:MAIN_RSLT_PG i bought my 320GB HD from Fry's in Houston 2 years ago for $165 and i am thourally pleased. i've never bought a crap product from them..... |
ive got a 60 gig external hd back in CA which would work perfect except its IEEE 1394 and not USB.... dammit.. oh well. tho it just about holds the 50 or so gigs of music i have... i may just break down and get me a 80 gig ipod, have all my music on it, and then room to spare...
who knows. it all is pending on if/when i go back home at this point. may just have my computer shipped out to me... |

also put a cd in . try to eject it, while it doesnt eject. try inserting a flat skinny object from center to the side. most unit have a little bar there. if youhit it. it might eject it. spent many hours trying to eject cds from ruined car stereos arter taking a trail a little too fast. |
Well I Just Ordered my new Head Unit :yeah:

HMMMM that is 2 threads in a row you mentioned that. Is it a double din? Is it a DVD player also? Do I need one rather than my 8017?

good choice DM, I got the JVC (junk very cheap) mentioned before, but only because it was a cheap choice with a usb, until I can get my screen. It works alright, but power is weak and the Ipod and usb interface's sucks. I miss Kenwoods, last two I've had were stolen.
|
The clarion had some reviews that said it didn't recognize the flash files very well the kenwood had great reviews with using the USB and it was cheaper so i went Kenwood 3 sets of preamp outs so i need them too

Yep, double din, DVD player, nagivation system, gps, XMTraffic capable, mobile computer capable, mobile entertainment system, drivetrain monitor, bluetooth, rear camera, voice recognition, phone, blah blah blah... I'm not familiar with the Kenwood products so I cant compare but I've just been impressed with the Avic Z2 and decided thats what Im going to get. BTW Aaron- I went ahead and bought the JL 10's and a 500w amp. :D

Thats why I got em because I really liked the way they sounded in your truck.
|
Kenwood Installed Sweet ! , I filled up a Jump Drive and stuck it in and away it went , Folder Navigation w/o a stop in sound play RIGHT ON ! Play Back Sound Not Quite up to the Clarion Pro Audios Clarity but seems to be more stable up top , With some HZ adjustments i may be able to tweak the Low Volume Highs In , Mids Developed a Slight Crackle I may be able to fix that via cross over as well ... Im Super Picky With the High Mids Lows , Clarity Ect... My truck is my home away from home any thing in it or a part of it I use EveryDay This is the great thing about it , 99% of Hobbies / Investments Do not get utilized on a daily basis Truck Bombs Do.
Next Time Someone Knocks ya for the $$ in your Truck Pick one of there hobbies and ask them if they use it EVERY DAY There tone will change Over all im Very happy with the Kenwood it was 179,00 The next step up was only $50 more , and it added a motorized Face plate Like my last few head units had However the USB port was in the back , So i got the lesser one so i can just jump in push in my jump drive and be on my way . DM |
Considering the crap you listen to, ya could have got some busted speakers and one of Whitmores old 8 track players... :ha::ha::ha:
|
lol
