block heater
 

my cord on my block heater on my 2005 3500 Duramax is shorting out just behind the male plug thingy. My local dealer says that the cord is replaceable without changing the whole block heater. my question is how big of a job is this and can it be done without the use of a lift? any special tools required?

I had to replace mine on my 12valve. The cord on Mine was just unscrew it and pull plug off. And push plug in and screw down. Yours should be pretty easy. Unscrew and screw in. You probably could get to yours from under the truck. :humm:
