Ok Gang...

It's getting time for a lift pump for me... I'm looking at doing a Holley Blue or Black.

Don't bother telling me about a FASS, AirDog, or any other high priced pump. I just don't have the money right now. I need to stay to the low price line. I made it to 120K miles with 3 carter pumps (1 under warranty 2 I bought for a total of $120 - $60 bucks a piece)

But I want to hear from other that done either a Holley blue or black pump and see how its doing. While your at it let me know if there is any special assembly you did...

I've got a Vulcan Big Line already in the truck... I've also got the 3/8" NPT nipples for the Vulcan and the other wiring setup.

I think the biggest problem with the holleys are, they start to leak cause there not designed to have diesel ran through them. I wanna say that the black pumps hold up better then the blues. If you end up going with one and end up picking it up from pep boys, kragens, schucks, autozone etc... it will probably have a lifetime guarantee!

I know what your saying about the price of the other pumps, but, I just saved a little longer to go with the FASS II. If ya think about it, $120 for 2 carters, now $125 for a holley, $100 bucks for the big line kit = $345. I think you can get the FASS II for $369???

 

I refuse to go on Ebay anymore so I can't get you a link. But on Ebay is a guy that makes a generic version of the Holley Blue and Black with a much cheaper price tag. They even use the same Holley kit for rebuild when the time comes so they have to be pretty similar.

You got my interest up Dieselminded... But how well will it adapt to my existing fuel system? Fittings etc.

I do have 3/8 NPT fitting also with my vulcan and the other wiring harness...

Also how about some pics so I can see what's up...

 

Mike, Ive been running the Holley Blue for over 3 years now. No problems. a little noisey but you cant hear it over the motor once its started

The Holley pumps have not been holding up as well lately. Hearing about lots of failures and I wonder if it has anything to do with changing fuel formulations.

The AirTex pump is a stock replacement type pump and is budget priced.

The Raptor is available in 100GPH and 150GPH and they are mid priced.

Ok... A lot of names flying around here... But no contact or web site address... I tried to find a AirTex pump but there site doesn't list a Cummins fuel pump at all!
