dana 70 locker stuck help
i have a 94 dodge ram 2500 4x4 cummins and the rear end locker is stuck locked and it tears up yard when i turn and stuff how do i get it unlocked thanks
if im not mistaken its a clutch pack locker. you prob have a broken clutch(s) causing it to not slip. u can always add some limited slip additive and do figure 8s on dry pavement to mix it in fluid, but you do realize that the purpose of a locker is to get both wheels locked together for greater traction. so you dont want it to perform as designed?
try swerving back and forth while backing up, but like stated above there must be a problem with it. A locker is supposed to be unlocked till one wheel loses traction a spool is always locked.
SOMEtimes you can unlock them by doing a good burnout, if they haven't been stuck for very long and depending on what exactly is wrong. Best bet is to pop the cover and take a look inside though.
