Hey guys my dad has a 04 crew cab long bed with the 6.0 it's got 4inch pipe,superchips,arp's, afe intake, and banks intercooler. His truck idles really really ruff and blows a good amount of black smoke just idling. I'm think it's an injector but I'm not a powerstroke guy so any help is appreciated thanks

 

A couple things to do first. test the FICM,,Pull the EGR valve out and clean it thoroughly,, clean the Exhaust back presure sensor that is by the drivers side valve cover, clean the tube too. lets start there and see what happens.

 

I'd take the superchips off too, test it stock and see if it's still doing it. Then do everything Bob said, except before testing the FICM, have the batteries load tested. Make sure you test the FICM cold too.
