94 12 valve fuel help

Default 94 12 valve fuel help

ok my dad has a 94 12v. the motor keeps dieing like its running out of fuel, right before it dies we hear a (tic tic tic) sound and he lets off the peddle it will die.. things that i have done is new lines from the tank to the motor,new fuel pump and filter. the truck is all stock. fuel presser is 19 idle 28/30 wot@ 2700 rpms. oh and when we go to prime the pump its still full of fuel.

have you checked your shut down solinoid?

Its new and set properly. This truck has me stumped.

what is your idle set at? does it do this under a load or only at idle?

it does it on load/just driving down to road unloaded. it wont do it at idle. i think idle is set at 700 or so.. we are thinking the injector pump is dieing.

i have a new ofv on the way but if my fuel presser is still good. like i said in my first post 19 idle 28/30 wot@ 2700 rpms

I know you said you have good fuel pressure but can you pin point the tick to a certain area like the lift pump?

the sound is from the injector pump but it only does it when it dies. when it tic's it will miss at the same time

sounds like my old pump it would act funny only when you got on it hard, turned out some shims got caught in the govenor assembly. it would miss real bad an then die too
