ok guys I have an '06 ram 2500 4x4 mega cab. I have a lot of ideas for power and of course a lift but before I go there I need to have a stronger drivetrain. What are your thoughts of a rebuilt 48re or getting a custom trans built for most bang for buck. on a tight budget and will take a while to save up for it but gotta start putting cash away now. input on this would be greatly appreciated!

 

rebuild it yourself. shift kit, BD power master upgrade kit. billet servo+accumilator piston. noise isolator and a triple lock torque converter. look up DTT transmisions and xtreme diesel for parts. just take your time and choose what you want. im in the exact same boat as you. limited budget and it needs to last. pm me if you have any more questions.

i had mine built full billet for 4500 at mr trans. and they put a 1 year warantry on it. if you do it your self and mess 1 little thing up on it your out of luck

 

that sounds ridiculous maybe if i had some else do that sure? but no way! where did you price that out at?
