Default just picked up a 96 ram 3500 5.9 12v cummins and have some questions

the truck is all stock besides from what the guy said was strait 3 inch exhaust and the fuel plate moved back and the afc moved back also... i was just reading a form saying that with out a pyrometer there is possibility of melting down the motor? my question is will the truck be fine or should i move the plate back to stock postion as well as the afc ajustment???

How long had he ran it like that? If he has been running it like that and no problems then just run it normal until you get a gauge. By normal I mean dont go hook to a 20k load and pull it up the steepest hill you can find. The fuel plate isnt hard to move back but I would just get some gauges first.

as bone stock truck like yours could be loaded down and run WOT for hours and be fine. a gauge is a VERY good idea and i do believe everyone should have one but bone stock stucks dont move enough fuel to melt anything. just drive it like a truck and you will be fine.

A set of gauges is a great idea! Even if you dont plan on doing more to the truck
