Default Tach shutting off?

Okay, first time its happened, but from what I know (or think I know) about my truck, it's a sign of the ECM. My tach randomly shut off when I goosed it a little, and my truck went into limp mode with the Check Engine light on. Continued for about 2 miles, then everything went back to normal. Any input on the situation? (Only mod to the truck is a Edge comp, which is left at setting 2)

X3 on CPS. Check your local parts stores they should carry them.

Sweet. I'll look into it and find one. Is it a one time thing? Happens everynow and then? Or just a sign of the inevitable?
