this truck shifts into OD at about 40mph. i believe i change this by adjusting the T.V. cable but how? or is this not it at all. everything is working fine it just shifts into OD early.

OD off? 40mph sounds about right. 35-40 mph OD off. 55-60ish WOT with OD. TPS could be out of adjustment, your TV shouldnt need adjusted to solve your lock up issues. WOT the truck should shift around 2500-2600 rpm, if that's not the case then that's when your tv would require adjustment.

well the OD swith is behind the dash so i cant push it. jut ride the brake a bit when i want to stay in 3rd. (thats going to change!) and what you said is about hows shes working its just hell pulling stuff and shiftin so freakin early.

 

May be the gearing, my moms gotta 98 with 3.58's I believe the tag said on the rear. But a long hill in OD the truck will lock and unlock around 55ish unless you keep boring on the throttle but just to maintain speed the trans ratio and rear ratio is hopeless even under its own weight.
