Default Buying advice please!!!!!!

I am looking at my first diesel. it is a 2004 silverado 2500 LS. it has the lb7 or whatever, is it a good motor? all i hear my buds talk about is their turbos on their diesels, can i make this truck powerful without a turbo? if not does anybody know how much it would cost me to put a turbo in? If i get good enough reviews i think i might buy it. the truck has a 6.6L with 103000 miles.

thanks

Yea it comes from the factory with a single turbo. I've had my 02 lb7 for 4 months and wouldn't trade it. The only bad thing i've heard about them is the injectors were know to fail but not always. Oh for a bit of information halfway through 04 they changed the duramax from the lb7 to the LLY. Incase you wanted to research it some more.

I know the guy that owned mine. He said he never had a problem with the injectors and I haven't had a problem either.

I have a 04 lb7, although I love my truck if I were to do it all over again I would have ponied up a couple more grand and bought an Lly.

I just did my injectors and it was a little over 2 grand with me doing the labor.

The consensus is on these new injectors I will get any where from 2000-100000 out if them. Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy huh?

To the guy that said his uncles injector harness went. Your uncles truck was prob an Lly.

Long story short buy an Lbz or an lly
