turning barrels... good or bad?
i hear and read alot about turning the barrels on a p-pump.. and im tryin to figure out what exactly it does and weither its good or not? and if its worth doing how is it done..
Do a search, this has been gone over alot. If you are scared or can't afford to have the pump worked on if it screws up don't do it.
I talked to a good pump guy about this his take is most pumps are off more than people think. He said even a pump he balances will be off in a year from wear. My 160 pump was smoother with the barrels turned than it was stock.
It's a nice little horsepower boost but not for everyone. It's a simple 20 minute job if done right, a days work and 2 to 400 dollars to fix what you screwed up if done wrong. I'm not trying to discourage anyone just telling it like it is.

alright.. im probably not gona do it just cause i dont trust myself no to mess up anything in the pump.. and that $2-400 possible repair is something i cant do.. haha.. but thanks for the info man
im stuck in the middle about turnin them.. also i pulled a set of stock injectors apart.. is there anything i can do with them myself to make em better or no? just figured id ask since i have em apart..
The one that was on here I think broke the gasket between the barrel and pump is what he thought happened. I don't see it happening very often but if it happens it's going to cost. I'm not scared to do it but I am able to except the worse case senerio.
