Hey guys,
Just want some input I am looking at the SCT X3 tuner/programmer. I am looking at MKM customs says it comes with 3 tunes, Any thoughts on the preprogrammed tunes or should I look into having a custom tune made before I even install it?

 

Stock tunes are fine but to really wake your truck up I would get some tunes from Innovative Diesel

I bought mine on ebay for DIRT cheap and added Innovative tunes. Combined, I paid less than any pre-programmed SCT. I'm not saying that you are going to find the same deal, but it wouldn't hurt to look. I didn't even bother with "canned tunes" after all of the inputs that I have seen here. Granted it did take about 2~3 weeks from "you have won" to getting the 3 tunes tweaked, but it was worth it in the end. Compared to the Brand E I use to run, I like the SCT mucho bettero.

 

Custom tunes or nothing IMO.

I would stick with one of the more reputable tuners as well...
