I just bought a new vp And an air dog 150. I should have them in the next few days...but my lift pump is in tank. How hard is it going to be to put my air dog in since my lp is in tank? Any help would be great...I just wanna know what im getting myself into before I start..

 

Gonna have to drop the tank... Or what I do on my installs is remove the bed.

 

Just wondering if there is anything special I have to do..like do i leave the pump in? Or take it out and put in a piece of fuel line in place? And can I make my own big line kit?

 

The 150 will come with everything to bypass it.

If you just got a newer airdog, it will most likely have the quick connect connections for the fuel lines. so making a "big line" would be difficult. the supplied lines are already pretty big, not sure of there exact ID. As for the in tank pump. You could use the draw straw, but there is a kit that you can get so you can use the module that your in tank pump is mounted in. In my opinion this kit is the better way to go, because it will eliminate the 1/4 tank issue commonly caused by improperly installed draw straws.

 

Dropping the tank is so much easier than taking off the bed, especially if your bed has never been off, you can drop the tank by yourself, I dropped mine alone with 1/2 tank of fuel in it, all it took was a jack and some jack stands (and some dunnage)

Don't forget you need the special puller to get the vp44 off, it's a little tricky but if you're a mechanical guy you shouldn't have a problem.

 

I've dropped the tank and pulled the bed, for myself pulling the bed is way easier. Either way you decide to do it, the kit should have everything you need.
