Blocks or springs?
Depends on what youre gonna do with it. Daily drive, show id say blocks. If you are going to be doing anything that relies heavily on traction ie. drag race, sleds, major offroading i would go springs. If you need the traction you dont want the increased leverage blocks put on the springs. It increases axle wrap. I guess you could track/ladder bar it and be fine but i really think its going to depend on your application.
With the 3-4 lift combinations that I have gone through with my truck, I will say that the single worst blow to ride quality was nitrogen shocks! Holy cow those things are kidney busters! How rough are they? When I went from a 5" block to a 6" lift spring, ride quality stayed the same, STIFF. After I did an add-a-leaf to level my truck (which was cool because it took the spongy feel out of the front without make it harsh), I added hangers and nitrogen shocks for a bigger lift. Same springs, mucho stiffo ride! Might be time to go back to the old school oil shocks.

OUO 7" blocks under my truck with a 4.5" ICON spring w/1" TEI up front. Sits pretty level and rides great. Stock rear springs ride great....shocks make the biggest difference.

We've had trucks in our club bind on leafs and ladders. The suspension worked, but only about 60%. Moroso sells axle floater kits for leaf/ladder set ups on street/strip cars because of binding. In the 80s and 90s you could get a traction lift that would act like a slapper bar while lifting your truck to eliminate this bind.
In short, I would have to ask what you are doing with your truck and if you have tested with and without ladder bars for bind. I can tell you that my 6 inch springs cost me on an RTI ramp compared to a blocked add-a-leaf truck at the same ride height.

Been running OUO bars and blocks with no wrapping issues. They have a video posted of a sled puller running them with NO wrap.

Binding and wrapping are two totally different things. Binding occurs during suspension articulation, such as on an rti ramp. Wrapping occurs under load. Under loaded conditions, nothing beats a good ladder bar, but how does it articulate, such as in an off road condition?
