help 94 head lights randomly turn off!

At random my headlights will flash off and then come back on a couple seconds later, it seems to happen sooner if i run the brights. Its only the headlights. The amber blinker lights stay on. Its starting to scare me cause where i live there are deer everywhere and i dont want to buy a new bumper yet. Any info helps!
Thanks,
Spencer

Didn't think the 2nd gens used headlight relays. That's why so many people have problems with the switch. I know my 98 didn't have any until I put them in.

X2 on the headlight switch! Not sure about the relays... It would make a lot of sense why they always go bad tho

its the switch, i had mine melt down plowing when i forgot to shut off the headlights. on older trucks the contacts build up dirt and grime making more resistance in the switch. have fun wiring the new one!

Some truck owners actually took their trucks into dodge to have the headlight switch recall fixed which was to add a relay to the circuit to keep from melting the switch plug and possible fire, so if you remove your dash and find a relay added into the harness that plugs into the switch, replace the relay first, then the switch if that doesnt fix it. If you dont find the relay, contact your local dodge dealership and have the recall completed and you shouldnt have to pay for the switch that burnt up.
