05' engine noise
I bought a 05' 2500 6speed 4wd. The other week and im noticing a engine noise like a bearing is giving out. It doesn't do it, when it is idleing, or low speed. the noise is noticeable when your goin 30mph and up. But when your coasting down a hill, you can push the clutch in while its idleing and itll still make the noise. And the sound doesnt change if you rev it. The sound will quit when you decrease speed, like slowing down. To me, it sounds like the idler pulley? I dont know for sure. Has anyone heard a problem like this? Bryan
I have found the problem, the housing that goes around the pivot ball on the front driveshaft has broke. I also had a question about that? how does that usually break? rough housing the truck or just wear and tear?
