Default OD solenoid

Hello Guys, i am in need of help.

93 W 350 4x4

At the back of the transmission is an extension ( OD gears? ) on the driver side rear is a switch with 2 wires Orange and black, I powered it with 12V on black and ground to orange, got worm but no action in the solenoid plus no engagement, I was trying to bypass TPS operation all together. now spedometer is not working and OD not engaging ( it did before but intermitent)

I checked TPS voltage and is as required ( 1v idle 4.5 Full )

Any help is welcome.

Ya, you probly fried your computer... The o.d solinoid can be bypassed by making sure the blue wire, just behind and above the return line has keyed pwr. If it does, you need to ground out the other wire, Usally orange with green tracer. It is towards the front of the vehicle and the blue wire is towards the rear. "Same plug"Do not apply pwr to it.

I am sorry that I took so long to respond, we just had my third kid and things are still unstable with little sleep.

I was able to to locate the wiring and I got to work the OD. so I thank you for helping me finding the solenoid connections. I originally connected it to the speed sensor, as a result i fried at least the speedometer, I have not confirmed the computer yet. Any way, do you know what does the computer controls?

Thanks,

Gonzy

you'd know if you fried the computer on a 93. It wouldn't charge, no AC if it's fried.

Do you how to test the computer to see if it is functioning? Everything in the truck works. The hazard flasher shorted out, I replaced it and all is good. Does that give any clues? I still have to replace the speed sensor, if speedometer won't work with a fried computer I won't bother replacing the speed sensor, do they work in concert?
