First you have to find out where yours is at and then advance it. One degree is not worth the trouble and you will feel no difference. It requires a special set of tools to accomplish this.

16,5° and everyone is happy... right ? 
but to tell you something incredible, i fooled a buddy of mine to set his timing to 18,5° and his truck is completely stock other than removing his fuel plate and cranking the starwheel... and his truck is still holding up after 20.000km

18.5 isn't a big deal, just really dont see much fuel mpg over 16.5 and also begins to start alil harder. Which is why 16-16.5 is where all the street trucks stick to. Now competition is a different story. I'm shooting for 24 and my buds 3.0 truck has 32.5
