Default Waste gate opens to soon?

Im having high egt problems, new stock turbo, if the wastegate isnt adjusted right and opens to soon, coul that be why my egts get to 1400 deg.?

could if the 1400* is with very little boost

yes, im pretty sure i was at 25psi, this turbo sucks compared to my other one i had.
but, this one seems like its opening too soon.

thats not what I ment by little boost ... if the gate was stuck open you couldent build boost until the top end

oh i misunderstood, but a put a pressure/vacuum gun on the wastegate, it opens at 25psi, it actuates just fine.
how would i go about adjusting it?

no, i wasn't sure, doesn't the boost elbow only restrict high flow pressure? i think if i put my pressure gun on it it will open at the same time? but i will give it a try.

I didnt see that you had two threads and had already checked the travel. Yes, the boost elbow only adjusts pressure. Your actuator rod just needs to be shortened. Start with one turn of the rod end since it won't take much adjustment to get the wastegate right.

no need to shorten the rod with a boost elbow ... all you have to do is adjust the elbow. if you know 25 psi is when the gate goes full open set the press comming from the elbow to 25 psi when you want the gate to open.
