Simply put; yes. You may have to buy a different fitting as the 45 they tell you to install in the bottom will cause the hose to sit on the frame. Where you mount it is up to you, they give you plenty of hose. I mounted mine up on the front radiator support and still had 3-4 foot left over.

I am about to put the kit on my 98 12 valve. Would you happen to have any pictures of yours mounted on your radiator support ?

I didnt do this just to get the truck on the road, I am planning it with the first oil change though. How do firewall mounting oil filters work out? on the side of the fender?

 

You'll want a pretty firm mount, think of the force it takes to remove the filter when it's on the side of the block

Most filters should be only hand tight when they go on n same when they come off.

 

Snug plus 1/4 turn, that's about every automotive filters "specs" unless you have a gorilla grip hand tight is sketchy at best... Mines hand tight and it has a tendency to have a weeee bit collect on the bottom of the filter. Waiting for the day it lets loose. Even after only tightening by hand the dang things always come off fighting.
