Default Turbo to Big??

Hey guys I was wondering if i could get your imput. I bought a Holset HX55 turbo for my truck and i was thinking it might be a little over kill. The truck is pretty stock. No fuel plate, star wheel cranked, 4" exhaust, cold air intake. So if you guys could tell me what you think that would be great. THANKS!

yes that is way to big. you should just keep your hx35 on there. with the mods i have i run a super b turbo that is a 57/65/14 and it works great for me. if you are planning for more mods like injectors. if your hx 35 is running hot know try bumping your timming to 16 degree that will help on your egts and make sure you do a 4kgov spring to best mod out there for these 12v. make sure you tune your afc right to do not just roll it all the way forward will kill your spool up. there are some more free mods you can do to the afc housing like shaving and 1/8 off of the foot and cup washer in the housing. but for turbo you need to tell me more about what mods you are looking at

i would go with sdx injectors. i would sell the hx55 and just get a 62/65/12 or a 63/68/12 if you plan on 90hp injectors or bigger

That turbo would serve you well with that hx35 in a set of twins. But as a single you would need a maxed out pump big injectors cam and head work.

^^^ this

With the right injector you could go with a larger 62 or even a 64 depends on your other mods.

The hx55 by itself will just be one word. LAG
I would say a decent sized 62 would do good things for what your after. Depends on what you wanna do with your truck.

I have a question that might sound stupid but what the measurments all stand for? Are the first two MM and the last one CM? Was thinking about the compound set up but sounds and looks hard. Any thoughts?

The mm is the size of the inducer of the compressor wheel the second is the size of the exducer of the turbine wheel. The cm3 is the volume of the turbine housing, they use cm (cubed) and a/r ratio.
