Default Tranny Flush???

I have an appointment set-up tomorrow to have my tranny fluid changed. I always assumed there was a filter that needed to be changed when you drop the pan. The place I am taking it said most vehicles only have a metal screen that doesn't have to be replaced. What this place does is pump the fluid out without dropping the plan. What do you guys think of this?

Told like a preacher, I have seen so many trannies go to the distance without a flush and just regular maintenance. But soon after a flush, those same trannies just crapped out.

I've always been warned against it, even by some "buds" at dealerships they say its horrible.
