Hey i have a stock turbo that was replaced under warrenty at 35000 miles and the other day i was cleaning my air filter an decided to check my turbo to see if it had any play and it did have a little, i dont know how much play is allowed but i still have an engine warrenty until november so should i take it in an do you think it will be covered an i wont hav to spend a dime?

 

some side to side shaft play is acceptable, the new turbos that i have purchased have some. in and out should have very little if any.

 

okay il have to take a better look at it, i didnt go in an out i just went up an down, oh an i forgot to mention im at 87000 miles now so its got about 52000 on the turbo now.

 

Very little either way the oil is in that void. If you see any touching of the fins to the body then it's on it's last leg!

 

do you think dodge will give me a new turbo if there is play? im trying to get what i can out of my warranty until it expires in november

 

Only if it fails they will say that's normal!
