Default wheels

what vehicles have stock 16" wheels that you could swap onto a 4x4 first gen and will work without spacers. i want to get some 16" wheels off something at a junk yard that will clear my front brakes and tie rod. i have 16.5's on it now with tires that are too big and bald.

IIRC, all the 2nd gen. wheels will bolt right on, as well as earlier GMC wheels. As jdbigblue said, Ford went metric with the 'Superduty' trucks, (can't remember what year that was) but AFAIK anything before that should bolt up also.

Mmm. I've been misinformed apparently. I'm pretty sure 3rd gen wheels you need a spacer for, but I didn't think you did with 2nd gens. I'll have to go back an re-read...

the aluminum 2nd gen dodge wheels will only clear very short tie rod brackets on steering knuckles. and they are designed for disc brakes. hope this helps.

2nd Gen chrome steel wheels are a direct bolt, all you change is the lug nuts. Cut out the caps with a 4 inch hole saw for the hub locks. I have these on my 1st Gen. 3rd gen require a spacer.
