Default Fuel line leak from pump to rail

Took the Boat to the lake yesterday, got home and smelt something funny , looked under the truck and diesel was dripping. It looks like the line, from the injection pump to the fuel rail, is leaking around the connection fitting to the rail. Anybody else have this problem?? common??reason??? anyways do I need to release any built up fuel system pressure before taking that high pressure line off??? and how. 2004.5 cummins. Thanks

Nope no pressure when off! Did you try to tighten it first? Isn't it a banjo fitting? Little crush washers need a bit of attitude adjustment!!

I had a similar leak and chased it for months. That line doesnt go bad off the IP to rail. We tried tightening , replacing line, moving IP around and retightening IP with no effect. Ended up being my IP leaking. Replaced IP and no problems since.
