hi i wave a 96 cummins with a rotted frame under the cab and up front by the bumer. i was wondering if i could just take a 98 1500 frame and take my cab axels and motor and put it together would it work? and would the frame hold up for the power of the engine?

it can be done. however the frame over the years might sow signs of fatigue.you'
ll also have to upgrade brakes,fuel system,all suspension and brackets, wiring. IMO it would be alot easier to find a 2500 or 3500 frame
