Hey everyone i just recently bought a 2003 dodge 2500 with the 5.9 in it.. Well when i got it the trans had the famous shuttle shift problem. Well i contacted Suncoast and talked to them and i bought the gm conversion for the governor pressure solenoid and i didn't replace the governor sensor only the solenoid suncoast said it was not needed, so i listened to them.. Well it fixed my shuttle shift but now i have a new problem i didn't realize because of the shuttle.. Now i have a problem when my torque converter locks up in the last gear not sure if the 48re is a 3 speed with a lock up converter or if its a 4 speed with lock up but when the tranny gets in the final gear and gets ready to lock up its like it doesn't lock up good kinda like it could be the lockup solenoid or possibly torque converter going bad.. Now when i drive the easy it does fine but when i'm hard in it is when i\t messes up. Now when i turn o/d off it works smooth and flawless no problems when i'm hard in it or barely in it.. Now the trans has been rebuilt by jasper once and i don't know when that was or what they done but the truck has 270,000 miles on it, and as far as power upgrades it only has a banks 6-gun and mbrp full T/B Exhaust with stock tires and wheels.. /I would be thankful for any help at all.

 

Two things:

1. If it locks under light throttle but just mushy its not the solenoid, likely TC clutch.

2. If it was rebuilt by Jasper it probbaly needs rebuilt again.
