They should. Both are 5.9 block, both 12 volt. If they are both off the trucks, check bolt patterns. Then count the teeth on the starter motor gear, and its diameter. If they are the same, it should work just fine.

If I remember right the starter from a truck with the 6 speed needs a spacer for a 5 speed. I could be thinking of something else though

Are you sure you have a dead starter or does it just need contacts? I've never had to buy a starter yet...S-loads of miles, replaced the contacts once, took about 5 minutes after I had the starter out.

About the OP,I dunno.

The problem I had when I needed to do my contacts and plunger was id go to start it and it'd click almost like the battery was dead or sometimes started to crank and just stopped. I had a fit one time with it where it took almost 10 minutes to get it to crank enough to start the engine. After pulling the starter apart and seeing the contacts and plunger it was obvious it was the problem not letting it engage. Id pull the starter and take a look. Contacts can be bought for like 30 bucks for upgraded ones with plunger, atleast that's what I paid.
