Okay I know this has been asked a million and half times but I cant find it anywhere now that I actually need it.I got all new autometer phantom guages for the 1st gen. Tach, mech. fuel press.,Pyro and boost.
So I was unscrewing my fuel inlet line on my pump for the 366 spring and noticed it was kinking even with a flare wrench so i tightened it and stopped..so Im going to replace it with a 1/2" braided line from filter housing to pump and just put the manifold for sender in there.What do I need for this?

and for pyro,just put the sender 2" from flange in center?

Have a look at the thread "EGT. How high is too high?" just below this one. There's some excellent pictures of where to drill for the probe.
Not sure about what you'll need for the fuel pressure gauge install though... You're looking to put it between the filter and the IP, right? I guess the best thing, if it's possible, is to plug it directly to the filter housing so you don't need 2 braided lines made up.

... Actually, I thought there was an NPT hole already tapped in the filter housing for just such a thing? Or am I thinking of the oil filter...?

 

Theres a thread in the sticky on how to install a gauge. You have to buy an adapter from Vulcan Diesel. Works great!

banjo Bolt for easy boost pressure access on the cummins engine

 

Thanks Guys I figured out the probe.But the thing with the fuel line from Stock filter houing to the pump inlet is i kinked the stock line a little so I want to replace that section with a braided line So would say a T-Fitting(where Banjo is) with a ball socket(to make line flex)from filter,then the line then another ball socket or just a 90 degree to inlet?

 

if you run line of any sort we recommend that its T1172 Teflon/polyfiber Stainless double braid its 10 bucks a foot but will last a life time we use it on everything from fuel line to radiator hoses to tranny cooler line it will be the last time you replace it you can get at any hydraulics shop

and trying to find a fitting to thread in that banjo bolt hole can be tough if you take that line off and take the banjo bolts with you to a GOOD hydraulic shop they can cut and weld fittings that will use your stock style fittings then adapt them to the SAE/JIC/Crimp whatever style

 

the threaded inlet adapter to the pump itself i can see where it'd be a pain to match. as for the line that twisted i honestly believe it s a 3/8" steel line with a flare, if the truck isnt a daily driver finish twisting it off or cut it and take the nut and flare end to an automotive parts store probably like a napa that is capable of doing hydraulic hoses. i'm sure they can find you something to use with out a problem.

i lied, i found my old fuel inlet fitting. it isnt a flared tube. it might be an ISO bubble flare which is unique to european vehicles (brake systems) except for chevy giving them a shot on the 80's camarros and bombed horribly
