Default stalling

hi
i have a 04 dodge 2500...cummins 5.9
my truck will stall at a idle and is sometimes hard to get it started again.diesel is clean,no water in the filter and its clean.i had a vibration a month before that but stopped that same day.
any help would be great

what is your fuel pressure?

condition of fuel filter?

any codes?

hi Whit
sorry i dont have the fuel presures but the filter is good...2-3 months old.i have no check eng light on...will it store codes with out the cel coming on? the stalling started 2 days ago,havnt done much for tests yet.dosent seem to have any performace issues just stalls at a idle (like the key is turned off....no sputtering to a stall.

check for codes

turn key on but dont start
turn key off
turn key on
turn key off
turn key on....read codes in the odometer window, write em down and report back

i think thats a lift pump code. perfect time to upgrade to fass or air dog

when i do the upgrade (fass) do i remove the old lift pump off the filter housing,or bypass it

if its like my fass it came with all new bigger rubber lines to bypass all factory main line and had to drop my tank and drill a hole in my tank and drop the new suction pipe in thats how mine is so im sure yours will be the same

whats your thoughts on a carter pump that fits the oem spot.
