Quick fuel filter question

I redid the fuel lines on my dodge and was wondering if it would be a bad idea to put a low pressure fuel filter in along the frame rail for a little better filtering. Good idea or no?

I would say no to that idea filters in the suction side of our already crappy mechanical lift pumps would just make it work harder
