I'm looking for the emissions sticker for a 1998 12v. You know the plate that's stuck on the timing gearcase next to the engine data plate. It reads something to the effect of:

"This medium-heavy duty diesel engine meets 1997 Model Year EPA standards.... blah blah... and can not be used for an urban bus application.... blah blah"

Need one for a late 1997 or 1998 12v non-CA. The sticker will say 1997 on it.

I had an extra one and can't find it. The local Cummins dealer (who are very helpful people) said that that part is not avalible.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm tempted to take an extra 1995 plate I have and take it to an engraving shop see if they can duplicate it to say 1997....

 

Try a scrap yard or recycle yard.

 

There are not many salvage yards around here that have those engines. I called one today and they were not interested in taking the tag off an engine and selling it to me.... I need to try the two other places that usually have cummins engines but my hopes are not very high.

 

Long shot, but eBay maybe.
