first check bateries, then its usualy glow plugs, but it can be the controller or the temp sender in back of block ther is also a cylinoid on manifold that sends power to glow plugs check to se if your geting power to glow plugs when light comes on. i like to pull glow plugs and test with a batery. 6.9s are notoriouse for bad glow plugs if they dont work no start.and dont use either!

It's spinning fast enough I know that. I have 2 1989s 2 1994s a 1993 and a 1996 all ford diesel except for my dodge. I just noticed some diesel leaking out of the return lines overnight would that do it? Thanks

yes that would. any fuel leak, either feed or return will cause they system to bleed down. get a fuel line return kit, sold online for about 30 bucks. replace the orings, caps, and lines.
