whats it going to take for me to rebuild the front drive shaft on my cummins does anyone have any good videos or pictures of a how to guide??

 

whats wrong with it? does it just need new u joints?

 

no they actually have no wiggle it is the ball and socket stuff inside.. just mangled it. i just bought a new shaft.. but i want to rebuild this one because i am in the process of finishing a new truck and will need one there.

 

ok so you need new u joints, there pretty cheep and you can change them yourself with a good vise and some srap pipe.

 

The front drive shafts on these have a double cardan u joint at the transfer case, most people call it a CV joint. It is two u joints right next to each other with a CV ball in the middle which is usually around $30 I believe. These things can be tricky to get back together

 

you got it 1amatt thats the point that i was gettin at. i know how to change a damn u joint??

 

My buddy just had one rebuilt, straightened, and rebalanced 170 bucks.
