53 block

I have the dreaded 53 block

but I have 295k mi on it and the owner before me towed a fifth wheel all the time so maybe its been repaired already or I got the good 1 in a 100000 block

the 53 block is hit or miss anyway....the chances of it giving you any trouble are slim to none seeing as though it has already lived a good chunk of its life.

if it worries you find a short block and have it ready to put in if this one gives you trouble. If it's made it that long I would say it's a good one.

ive read in way to many places that only about 1 percent crack and they will do it before mileage gets up there. if its that old it most likely wont crack.
