I have a 93 f450 with a 7.3 non turbo and it will not start up.
it takes cranking on it for too long to start and I can kill it right away and it restarts fine
Things i have replaced...the lift pump and all orings,the return lines and all orings,all check valves on the fuel return side and even pulled the tanks and re oringed all the lines there but now I,m stumped,the gps is working great...HELP

 

have u looked at the glow plugs or the glow plugrelay.

 

yes the glow plugs are working great and there are no leaks on the system

 

try unhooking the feed line from the lift pump and run it into a jug of diesel. prime up the system and get it running. then shut it off and let sit for a while. then try to restart it. if it restarts, it is something from the pump to the tanks.

does it have dual tanks?
how full are your tanks?

 

I have dual tanks and I tryed running each tank but it still will not crank after it sits an hour or so,i installed a lift pump just thinking it was bleeding fuel back but that made no change

ok i put a fuel jug straight to the fuel lift pump and got it bled out and running then i killed it and came back 3 hours later and it will not start.when it is cranking over it will smoke out of the exhaust whats next,oh the tanks are completly full of fuel.

 

how old is your injectors/injection pump? milage on them? last time the pump was timed?

 

the truck has 66000 miles on it the pump has a reman tag on it,the truck runs fine after it starts with good power and no smoke at idle,how much pressure does the lift pump have,i installed a new one,but it could be bad ?

 

you need atleast 5 lbs to the injection pump. 7 is the desired number.

install a holley red pump. no more cranking to bleed the system.

 

i thought about an electric fuel pump,ok i will check the pressure Thanks
