does any body have any ideas bout wut could make my throttle just go dead while driving down the road?

 

injector pump is all i would know of on the old 12v

 

What about the cheap throttle rod that didn't break did it?

 

What do you mean by 'throttle going dead'? You mean you put your foot on the pedal and nothing? Or the whole truck died? A little more info would be good. Could be you ran out of fuel for all I know.

 

Did the hot wire come off the injector pump that happened to me the other day and it died like it ran out of fuel just an idea

 

i got the same problem on a 93 rite now. when u accelerate it takes forever to get to 45mph an that is all it will do. we put new injectors in it an still the same thing. so i call the cummins house in Ft Worth an they said the injector pump is bad. so im gonna pull it an let them rebuild it. we will see if that is it. not sayin this is your problem but might be an idea. good luck.

 

no motor just returns to idle while driving it only does it every now and then im not out of fuel and the throttle linkage is good

 

How do you get it to start up again? It sounds like you can get it to run again. Can you start it up again right away or do you have to wait for a while? More info might help to determine if it is somehing like a loose electrical connection, a partialy clogged filter or fuel intake screen,a defective control module, etc.
