Default Manual to auto swap ???'s

Hey guys, I've got an NV4500 in my truck currently. I'm kinda sick of it. LOL. I'm toying with going to a 47RH that's built.

Here's my plans:

~500-550 hp, occasional sled pull once or twice a year, and towing/DD.. (Towing usually 13,000-15,000 gross combined)

Right now I've got a stock 2wd NV4500 with 1-3/8 input and Valair Billet Double Disc clutch and 4.10 gears. Holds power good, but costs me a fortune in fuel economy due to the 4.10's. And, backing that gooseneck trailer around absolutely sucks. This is the only manual I've owned, and I hope its' the last.

I got a guy that may be interested in my tranny for a re-power into an old chevy 1.5 ton, so I've got an outlet for the tranny. What's an NV4500 like mine with the clutch I've got worth you figure? I've got $2k into the clutch and input shaft. LOL

My plan is to stick 3.54's in the rear and, and get a 47RH auto 4x4 tranny and transcase. (I plan to convert the truck to 4x4 at some point). Georend TQ and Valvebody, billet input... What all do you think I should plan on cost wise in improvements? I plan to do the tranny work myself. Also, how hard is it to put an auto into a manual tranny truck? I know I'll have to get a floor shifter or something of that caliber.. Just wanting to know what I'm getting in to..

Thanks for any advice or info you guys can give me!

Unfortunately, a 47RE is going to require me to buy a transmission computer to make it work.

Plus, is your 47RE built? For an even-up trade, I'd need the thing built pretty good.

Ok, So blazier18, you saying that going from manual to auto is a mess, or vice-versa. Can't be any worse than swapping a cummins into a perkins powered tractor. LOL

I know I'll either have to trade steering columns, or get a floor shifter. Plus the wiring and the tv cable. My truck is 2wd too, so I doubt any 4x4 guy would trade with me. I figure I'll have to sell the 5 speed and buy a 4x4 auto + tcase. Then have the driveshaft shortened.
