Default pure diesel power rebuild kit

anyone used this kit? part # 12VOHKIT
if so what is the benifit of the larger bowl piston over the stock..
and what is the difference between an encore 97-02 and non-encore block 89-97

going with a stock bore i think. any reason to get the .010 rod/main bearing or the .020 rod bearings..whats the differnce?

My buddy just rebuilt his using the pure diesel power kit. The larger bowl will allow you to advance your timing and the fuel will still hit the bowl. I would Definatly get them. They should be the same price. And of your engine had some miles I would suggest going atleast 10 over. You'll atleast want to run a hone through it and reem the ridge if you have to. If I was doing it I would go atleast 10 over so the cylinders freshly machined. And the over sized bearing are for it you plan on having all the journals on the crank machined. This Is not really nessasary unless it has hot spots or there is some imperfections. That's up to you. The larger bowls in te pistons is a definate want. And I would suggest boring it atleast 10 over. If the cylinders look new and don't have a ridge and you don't wanna spend money at the machine shop you can just use stock bore. All comes down to what it looks like when you take it apart

Yes but they will want more timing. How far is the first ring groove from the top of the piston?
