Hard starts w/ sct tune.
It's been cold down here in Texas ( lows in the 30's highs in the 50's). And my truck won't start if I have a tune on it. It just turns over and coughs white smoke. But if I go back to stock it fires right up. And it does not matter if it is 30 or 60 same thing. I'm going to try switching to rotella t6 5w-40 & some Rev-X. I was just wondering if anyone else has had a problem with hard starts with tunes.
You do have tunes for YOUR truck now right?
Mine starts up the same on any of my tunes. I'm sitting in negative temps right now too.
The only difference I notice is on extreme tunes when it's cold out, the engine acts like a light bulb, either on or off. The slightest touch of the throttle has insane response, until it warms up. I usually run a smaller tune like a street tune or towing tune during the winter months.

If you have any kind of injector or ficm problem you will defentely be able to notice it with a custom tune in the colder temp. Rev x will work wonders on how it starts i would try it first that stuff is amazing.
