im looking into installing a raptor fuel pump on my 97 dodge ram 3500 12v cummins has anyone installed this pump and were the results worth the cost i dont really want to replace the stock pump with a stock pump and am on a tight budget so fass fuel system is out of the question any input would help

 

Whats all done to your truck? Is you pump shot or? The stock lift pump is good to 500hp so theres no reason to replace it...

 

truck is all stock as far as i know ,the lift pump has went out on me and need to replace it just wanted to upgrade a bit do you think it would be best for me to just replace with stock replacement im only using truck to tow so not planning any over the top horsepower upgrades and probably will never get near 500hp the raptor is gonna run me 365.00 and the stock replacement is only 150.00 would you recommend stayin with the stock pump

I say go raptor... Or, if you do go with stocker, get it from Cummins. The aftermarket piston pumps suck. Been down that road... I've now got an electric pump.

As a side note, I put a Raptor on a customer's truck... VERY easy install, so if you go that route, it's a snap.

 

Raptor = Lifetime Warranty
Stock = Sucks

 

I'm with Lukesdiesel on this.... I used to hang on to the "superior 12v mechanical lift pump" as the ultimate thing... Now, I'll never go back!

 

Even if its stock, if you ever need to pull injectors or anything, its a hell of a lot easier to prime. thats why I want one.

 

I used to have confidence in the stock pump, until I installed a fuel pressure gauge. Seeing it drop to single digits on a new pump was enough for me to switch to a Raptor.
