2005 6.0??
Because Ford/International-Navistar hadn't worked out the bugs with the engine. They had a LOT of EGR problems, turbo problems, head problems. In my opinion the EGR setup that is on the 6.0 is the worst design ever, I mean seriously how smart is it to have standard engine coolant go through a unit that has 1000°+ exhaust gases going through it?
I don't think they're that bad. 05 was the year that they changed the design of the HPOP. They all came with a 2 piece fitting that would blow the o-ring out and leave you with a no start.
If you take care of the EGR and the STC fitting. You'll be well on your way to having a good truck.
